WHAT KIND OF PHOTOGRAPHER ARE YOU? My style is focused on LOVE. I want you to look back on your photos and remember how it felt to love and be loved. My work has been described as gritty, emotional, and intimate. I create large galleries of photographic fine art for my families. I want you to see your family and life a work of art. This isn't about perfection, but instead about the beauty of the imperfect. I don’t use traditional “posing” and in fact, very few of my photos have everyone looking straight at the camera. I’m looking to capture gorgeous individual shots and a collection of images that tell the story of your family connection.
WHERE WILL MY SESSION BE HELD? I’m a natural light photographer, which means I use sunlight (no flash or artificial light) for full sessions.
In home sessions are scheduled during the day for optimum window light.
Outdoor sessions are scheduled about one hour before sunset. I have several outdoor locations to choose from, or you can choose a local spot (travel fee may apply outside of Yuma city limits).
HOW OLD SHOULD MY NEWBORN BE FOR PHOTOS? I think babies are perfect just as they are, which means I don’t pose newborns in unnatural positions and they can be awake or asleep during the session. This natural, lifestyle approach means that newborn sessions can occur anytime within the first few months. Parents usually choose to schedule within the first two weeks of life.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? I offer styling tips upon booking. The most important thing is that you wear something you love and that makes you feel good about yourself. We want to focus on your love and connection, not on your clothes or the location.
WHAT IF I’M NERVOUS TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED? It’s perfectly normal to feel a bit nervous about being photographed. You and your family have nothing to worry about with me, I GOT YOU. None of my work features models. All photos here are REAL people. I will take control and direct you to create natural and beautiful photos. All you need to do is BE YOU.
WHAT IF MY KIDS MISBEHAVE? Don’t worry about the kids misbehaving! I have three of my own so I’ve seen it all. And often when the kids are being themselves is when I capture the loveliest images :) During newborn sessions your baby will be in your arms for most of the time. If baby cries or gets hungry we will take a break so you can care for them. I encourage children to snuggle with their parents, run around, play, and show me their cool skills during sessions.
WHAT DO I RECEIVE AFTER MY SESSION? You’ll receive an online preview gallery within 2 weeks. Your preview gallery will have at least 40 hand-edited digital images, and each image will be in both color and black and white. I sell high resolution digital images because it’s important to me that you have the archival quality images to keep forever, and print whenever and wherever you’d like. In addition, packages include printed products so that you have something to touch, hold, and enjoy for years to come. You’ll also have the option of purchasing additional high quality prints and products directly from your gallery.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE WHICH IMAGES ARE IN MY GALLERY FROM OUR SHOOT? Don’t stress over choosing your favorite images because I’ve got it covered! I hand select the images that best represent my artistic vision and your family’s connection.
HOW FAR OUT ARE YOU BOOKED? I generally book one to three months in advance. For newborns, it’s best to book before the baby is born. If your little one has already arrived, no worries! I always leave room for last minute bookings.
DO YOU OFFER MINI-SESSIONS? Mini sessions aren’t conducive to my style. My sessions are connected, intimate events with plenty of time built in for you and your family to relax and get comfortable in front of the camera. My families enjoy the fun they have spending time together during their session, snuggling and laughing their way through. And they’re thrilled with their gorgeous photographic art documenting their love. Great photos take time- you won’t regret it.
